About the Friends BookShop

Located within the heart of the library, the Friends’ BookShop was founded by energetic and forward thinking volunteers who in 1993 were looking for a way to raise funds for the library and serve the community at the same time.   Our community has and continues to generously donate an amazing number of books and other materials to the Friends of the Library which are sorted, priced and then sold back to the community at very reasonable and affordable prices.  With these profits The Friends organization, a successful non-profit organization since 1964, provides resources to the library which include library materials and relevant programs that benefit children, teens and adults.  BookShop sales generate over $100,000 per year allowing the Friends to provide the library with major gifts and installations, author and music events, and donations to the Library’s collection.

The Friend’s BookShop sells a large variety of used books including hardcover current bestsellers, paperbacks, classic literature and collectible books.   Specific specialty categories such as Genealogy, New Age, History, Pets, Photography, and Computers are also available.   The BookShop features many genres including mysteries, children’s books, romances, home and garden, cookbooks, textbooks, and health and fitness, along with a wide variety of magazines and audio books and DVDs too.   To keep up with donations the BookShop offers monthly specials and sponsors sales regularly.  Other items such as book bags, magnets, posters, and stationery supplies are also on sale at the BookShop.

As the Friends of the Library BookShop celebrates its 20th Anniversary,  we would like to encourage you to become a Friend of the Corona Public Library so that you too may enjoy the benefits and pleasure of giving back to your community and helping to maintain our beautiful library and its vital services as we meet the challenges of the future.

Here is a second way for our BookShop customers and Friends members to help the library at no cost.

The Board would like to encourage Friends members and customers to register their Ralph' s rewards Card online at http://www.ralphs.com.  Individual purchases will begin counting towards our organization within 72 hours of registration.  Every time a member shops for groceries and swipes their card, our organization automatically would get a percentage of the money spent.

Effective September 1, 2016, the Participants are required to register for the new term online at http://www.ralphs.com/ or by calling Ralphs at 1-800 442-4438.  Even if you have registered as recently as June, July or August 2016, you are required to register again beginning September 1, 2016.

For our customers convenience, step by step website registration instructions can be found at www.ralphs.com, click on Community Contributions, click on "Enroll Now".  If you don't have computer access, please call Ralphs at 1-800-443-4438 for assistance.

New this year, as of September 1, 2016, the Scan Bar letters are no longer valid.  The Scan Bar letters will no longer work at the register which makes this a great time for all our members & customers to create an online account or re-enroll at your online account.
