The Friends of the Corona Public Library is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting our Library in providing the best programs, services, materials and experience for all Library visitors. Friends’ memberships, BookShop and Adopt-a-Book all help make this possible.
Friends of the Library believe that the strength of a library lies not only in its collection of books and materials but also in its programs and services.
Welcome to our 2025-2026 year. We’re very excited about all the activities we have planned in the next 12 months. We spent last year updating our quarterly newsletter, our website, Instagram and Facebook. Please follow us on one of those to see our complete calendar of events.
Our BookShop, founded in 1991, makes profits of approximately $100,000 each year. That money is used yearly to help the Corona Library. Last year we funded the following areas:
Hoopla Media — $70,000
FAM Room Furniture — $47,658
New Book Fund — $26,000
Summer at Your Library — $21,094
New Aquarium and Stand — $6442 And several other fun events
We are now moving into our 62nd year of supporting the Corona Library. If you are interested in volunteering with The Friends of the Library, please begin the process at https://www.coronaca,gov/i-want-to/volunteer-opportunities. Then click on “Volunteer Interest Form” near the bottom of the page. The city’s Volunteer Program Coordinator will get back in touch with you.
In 2024-2025, it shocked me that our volunteers gave a bit over 11,000 hours to support our BookShop, our Board and our Library!!!!! (By the way, we have the highest volunteer hours throughout any group in the city.)
